Karnali State government`s priority-PM Oli

About

Kathmandu, March 26: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said the government has laid high emphasis on the development of Karnali State. The Prime Minister said this at an interaction with the lawmakers of the Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) representing Karnali State at Singhadurbar in Kathmandu on Tuesday.

Spectacular development plans of Karnali State were inadvertently missed out in the last year`s budget, he said, pledging the upcoming budget would address the development needs of the State. "Last year the budgetary allocation was not made to the districts of the Karnali State. But it would not repeat again", PM Oli added.

The Prime Minister noted that it was not appropriate to allocate budget on the basis of population size, adding budgetary allocation would be made to the Karnali State based on geography. "The Karnali territory has distinct features", he said, adding "The State should be brought into development mainstream through proper budgetary allocation".

A team of lawmakers headed by CPN Standing Committee member Janardan Sharma had called on Prime Minister to draw government attention on Karnali State development.  (RSS)
